Reviews of Other Early 2000s PC Games |

Long gone those very days when in the early zeros we enjoyed the games from this list. However, today I propose to recall the ones that gave us unforgettable sensations and unique memories. After all, they are different for each of us. It is the most precious thing that we have to keep for the rest of our lives.

I may seem sentimental. Or maybe I am. That’s not the point, though. I want to encourage as many people as possible to cheer up by reading these lines. Because this is the primary goal of the Smart2000s project, as its creator, I try to achieve this goal in each article.

So welcome to another session of endorphin mining from the farthest corners of our memory.

10. Beetle Crazy Cup

There is no racing game in the world as fun as this one. The first time I played the app was when I was eight years old. It was so great that twenty years later, I remembered it and decided to share my impressions of it with you. After all, the game wasn’t popular in its day. However, it is worth a look.

Beetle Crazy Cup is an excellent option for a fun pastime with friends, as well as in the single game. Many modes are present here. They will not let you get bored. For fans of modern mobile games, I recommend the one called Beach Baggie Racing. It is very similar to this game. Even the soundtrack confirms it.

But perhaps you decide to wipe the dust off your old computer and run the hero that ranked tenth on today’s list of the best early 2000s PC games. Then I have just one question for you. Are you ready for a wild car adventure? Then install Beetle Crazy Cup, and let’s go!

9. Will Rock

If you are not a cat but want to have nine lives, I suggest playing the game “sitting” in ninth place. After all, here, among the many bonuses, you will be able to use such a special one as invulnerability. You’ll not be required to activate it as often as you’d like.

Guess how many times you can surprise your opponents with such an impressive skill over the entire gaming time? That’s right, about nine. Plus, if you play at an average pace, the story mode will take you the same number of hours to complete. How could I not put Will Rock in ninth place?

As for the game itself, it is an FPS with great humor that dilutes the atmosphere of ancient times. The protagonist must save the girl and defeat the forces that have been hiding in Egypt for centuries. If you are going to play Will Rock, then be ready for a lot of surprises. The developers managed to surprise me a lot.

8. Super Taxi Driver

I know that guys from all over the world read my articles. So I want to share one piece of information that came to me from the news about the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis. It is about Ukraine. The fact of the matter is that most of the entrepreneurs made big losses in my country. Many of these people had to look for a new way to make money. The most popular one was to try the role of a cab driver.

I wonder if they got the same thrill and emotion from this activity as they did from this cab driver simulator. And I’m sure that when they played this game at the beginning of the decade, they didn’t think they’d get the chance to experience it in real life by the end of the 2000s. I hope their lives turned out well.

It was similarly good to play Super Taxi Driver. It was one of my favorite games when I was a kid. I especially liked the soundtrack, which mainly includes rock songs. Later there was a port for smartphones based on Symbian OS, and I continued to savor this tasty thing on my Nokia 6630.

7. Cossacks: European Wars

Friends, how many Ukrainians with the name Bogdan do you know? If I’m not the only one among them, surely the hetman Khmelnytskyi will also be among them. He is the legendary leader of my nation and one of those who inspired the creators of Cossacks: European Wars.

This game is one of the best strategy games of its generation. The multiplayer mode was the most popular among players. When I used to go to the computer club in my town, many guys had their virtual battles here.

The greatest war is the one that has not harmed any living creature. Here we have a fantastic opportunity to test our strength in such trials. After all, why inflict pain when you can have fun? That’s why computer apps are valuable, and in my list of the early 2000s PC games, I can convince you of that.

6. Delta Force: Land Warrior

Here comes another game that encourages less aggression in the real world. This first-person shooter sends us to different locations around the globe. There we will fight to liberate certain buildings or territories.

We have to choose from several types of weapons. You can also pick the fighter that suits your style of playing. For its time, the graphics is excellent. It will help you enjoy the beauty of the landscape where your missions will start.

I used to spend many hours playing this game when I went to my dad’s office. He also loved to play Delta Force: Land Warrior. Even now, he can launch it sometimes and remember how he spent his time at work in the early 2000s 🙂

5. FIFA 2002

This time, I want to present you with a football simulator I used to play at my mom’s office. I remember how in awe my anticipation was for another session of enjoyment, where I managed the best players of the time. Many of them I included in my football dream team of the 2000s.

As for the gameplay, it is elementary. But it’s also possible to score with a volley. My PC saw beautiful goals sometimes, I should say. I remember that Filippo Inzaghi scored most of them. There’s also another point, which I thought was very funny. It consists in the fact that you can bring down the goalkeeper thanks to the sliding tackle when he holds the ball in his hands.

What I liked most of all was the soundtrack. Great songs from the electronica genre represent it. There are also a few tracks that sound more like pop music. I love listening to compositions from FIFA 2002 when I travel. This trick makes me feel like I’m in my favorite 2000s.

4. Worms World Party

Worms know how to have fun. If you don’t believe me, you can play this game. It will convince you that they should join all fabulous parties. They will bring excitement and spice up any event. I learned this back in elementary school when I spent afternoons playing Worms World Party.

The junkyard fights between these little creatures seemed to me to be something extraordinary. What if they were taking place? I’d love to see such exciting action. However, let’s touch on the app itself for a moment.

The gameplay here is similar to tank battles. Except that instead of machines, we see worms. Each of them has a unique name and particular speech. Plus, the combat arsenal is striking in its variety. Well, the icing on the cake is the multiplayer mode. This feature is the main zest of the game.

3. Serious Sam

The legend of the world of shooters is in third place. Almost all the guys you can attribute to the generation of gamers from the 2000s used to play it. Among the features are sharp humor, curious story twists, and unforgettable enemies.

The charismatic nature of the game confirms one interesting fact. The first two parts of the Serious Sam game franchise were re-released almost ten years after the original ones. They got an upgraded game engine. The fresh releases proved to be very successful.

For example, I enjoyed playing new versions of the FPS. There, the classic atmosphere opens up freshly thanks to improved graphics. In addition, I have a surprise for those guys who liked these creations. There are new parts of the series where there is also a lot of fun.

2. Need for Speed: Underground

What do people who haven’t played the game need to know about it? Guys, you haven’t experienced the “eron-don-don” phenomenon. Yes, the soundtrack is the actual calling card of this Electronic Arts creation. Here we have the opportunity to let our ears caress a whole fountain of compositions. As for the styles, mostly rock and hip-hop songs are present here.

Other elements of the game are also at a high level of quality. The graphics, for example, is excellent. In 2003, very few games could compete with Underground in this aspect. The gameplay is also breathtaking. There are many modes, and every player will find something to their liking.

The nice thing about early 2000s PC games is that they are in harmony with all their components. And this app becomes the prime example. For a deeper dive into this game franchise, I recommend all fans of NFS to watch the Need for Speed movie. The film came out amazing. I rewatch it almost every year.

1. GTA: Vice City

Now it’s time for an announcement. I want to remind you that I’ve already published articles about the best games for Symbian OS and N-Gage & Java platforms. Also, don’t forget about the possibility of reading full reviews of the games presented in today’s list.

Now let’s move on to the winner. This one is the most brilliant part of the Grand Theft Auto universe. There, the lush landscapes of 1980s Miami beckon with its diversity. Its streets are full of danger and adventures. Can you become the king of this place? You will face the local mafia and the foreign gangs.

Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Inside Vice City, you will find a profound story that is full of intriguing moments. And the gorgeous soundtrack will send “shivers” through your body (as we say it in Ukraine). It’s a musical delicacy that had me in awe. Friends, be sure to savor this game if you haven’t done it already.

At the end of my material, I want to thank you for reading this article to the end. If you liked it and this is your first time here, I invite you to read my blog in more detail. Friends, wishing you all good health. Bye!
